Energy Storage for Business and Industry: Implementations and Best Practices
A session dedicated to the practical applications of energy storage systems in the business and industrial sectors. The discussion will focus on implementation experiences, the most common needs of end users, and the best practices that determine the success of a project.
Participants will explore where energy storage is already delivering real value to companies today, how it supports supply security, energy cost reduction, cooperation with PV installations, and greater operational flexibility for enterprises.
An important context for this debate is the growing significance of corporate energy resilience. According to materials published by the Ombudsman for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, 72% of SMEs declare that they are not prepared for a blackout. This highlights that, for many companies, energy storage is becoming not only a tool for cost optimisation but also a critical element of business continuity and operational resilience. The discussion will also cover the practical aspects of implementation: choosing the right project model, integrating storage with the customer’s infrastructure, the role of energy management systems, and the key factors that determine the effectiveness and profitability of the investment. This session is designed for those who want to explore energy storage from the perspective of real business needs and proven market experience.

Securing the Energy Transition.
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are rapidly becoming a critical component of modern power infrastructure, enabling large-scale integration of renewable energy, improving grid stability and supporting the transition to a low-carbon energy system. As the role of energy storage grows, ensuring the security, reliability and integrity of these systems becomes increasingly important. This presentation explores how local manufacturing, transparent supply chains and cybersecurity-by-design contribute to building resilient and trustworthy energy storage infrastructure in Europe. It highlights the importance of supply chain transparency, control over key system components and compliance with international standards to ensure the safety and bankability of large-scale BESS projects. The session will also address cybersecurity challenges related to EMS, SCADA and communication architectures, emphasizing the need for secure system integration and protection of critical energy assets. By combining advanced technology with trusted manufacturing and robust cybersecurity practices, energy storage systems can play a secure and reliable role in Europe’s evolving power landscape.
